The boys arrival and Ubud rice fields Day 3-4

Sera and I were waiting at the end of our laneway at 11.15pm after struggling to stay awake for their arrival. I'm not sure what the neighbouring guests and residents made of the noise as 6 wheelie duffle bags clattered along the cobbled laneway at high speed to our hotel. Hamish went down on his knees with his bag within 10metres of starting out, luckily no injuries were sustained.

It was a great hotel - the boys loved the pool! I'm sure the other guests didn't love our boys! A bush jungle come rubbish tip background, lovely staff and very steep stairs to ascend when exiting the hotel.  No Australian standards for step height over here. Completely inconsistent and steep seem to be the norm!

We thought we'd take it easy the first day as Sera and I found we were pretty tired on our first day so we thought an easy walk through the Ubud rice fields with a drink or lunch stop along the way followed by some swimming in the pool was the plan for the day.
The ducks alongside the laneway to our hotel
One of many offerings at our hotel and everywhere throughout predominantly Hindu Bali (cigarettes instead of the more typical incense - Hindu Gods are obviously not too health conscious). The local birds apparently are grateful for the food!
Walking through the Ricefields of Ubud. Leo is tall but he was standing on a hump making him dwarf the other boys even more than usual!
Where can I get one of these signs for Diz, my Yoga teacher!
The kids, exhausted from the walking and heat crashing whilst they await their juices at the 'Sari organik' a gorgeous place with organic vege patch set amidst the rice fields.
Gotta love ducks!
A beautiful residence with fabulous vege patch and duck house (the small thatched roof at then the left end of the vege patch).
Jungle amidst the rice fields
Anything and everything gets transported by motorbike in Bali!
How cool are these scarecrows!
More ducks! I'd be happy just sitting watching ducks all day!
The boys looking a little more refreshed at Sari Organik!
More Ricefields
We'd call 'bike back' or 'bike up'when a bike was approaching to alert us to step off the path and allow it to pass!
The coconut  drinks sounded more appealing than they tasted!
Enjoying the pool at Alam Terrace, Ubud
Keepings off with the dive toys
Ducks on the move beside 'Jalan Bisma' where our hotel was located
H R puffn'stuff meets Komodo dragon at the monkey forest. Multiple statues carved out of concrete
Hamish watching nervously as the monkeys played, mated and fought around us!
And stole people's drinks
How gorgeous in an ugly/cute kind of way.
Hamish getting more relaxed as a young monkey tries climbing his leg. Hamish shook it off when he saw him pull his head back and open his mouth!
A little dragon Hamish spotted at in the jungle behind our hotel
We  took the boys to the yoga barn to show them where we were staying
